Since its creation in 1993, Gatecrasher has rapidly become the UK's most outstanding and influential dance club and youth culture brand, changing the face of club culture globally.
Gatecrasher began as a one-off party at the Engine House in the West Midlands in 1993 and has since built up a Worldwide reputation as a flamboyant, individual and hedonistic brand. From small beginnings, Gatecrasher went on to host several parties across the country before coming to reside at The Republic nightclub in Sheffield in March ’97.
Situated in the grounds of the ‘Old Roper & Wreaks Steelworks’, the venue still retains key features of its industrial heritage and has since undergone two major re-fits to meet the demands of today’s discerning clubber culminating in a £1.5 million re-design in September 2003 which also saw a change in name from The Republic to Gatecrasher One. This name change also resulted in a repositioning of the brand with the World famous Gatecrasher Trance nights now operating under the name Crasher.
That gig that's comin up on boxing day looks amazing but I'm spending boxing day with family which I think prob most people do. Are there any other gigs coming up soon? I havn't been able to go to Gatecrasher for ages xx

i know gc1 will be back bigger and better untill gc1 opens back up theres media at notts what opens in sep so i cant wait for that but gc1 will always be with me
i was so sad 2 hear bout the mighty gatecrasher burning down last week,it feels like ive lost a member of the family but i know it'll come bouncing back,rest in peace gc1,it will always be with you
Word is on Gatecrashers website (www.neverstandstill.com) that all the Crasher and Hedkandi nights as well as the fourth birthday celebrations will continue at an as yet unconfirmed venue! That's where i'll be, or Discotheque in Leeds! NeverStandStill xx

im some what sad to hear this news, not only for myself as i was allowed to be let into a Click to enjoy a memorable time with my now ex, i had such an amazing experience there. Im saddened for my friends who lived for this club, it was their life they grew with this club (crasher kids). I thank you an them for allowing me to enjoy this experience an what a bloddy experience it was... IM SADDENED...

I am absolutely distraught over the loss of the almighty gatecrasher one. I cannot stop thinking about it, it's like I've lost a loved one. Nationwide, gatecrasher was not just a night club it was a way of life, bringing awesome djs, visuals and atmosphere like nowhere else I have ever been. And now my life is in ruins, as it is in cinders. Sheffield will never be the same. Thank god i was there on sat and had the chance to experience the last ever night held there and so many other awesome nights such as crasher classics and the resurrection, the list is endless, summat to tell the grandkids. I only hope it will come back bigger and better than ever. My heart is officially broken. It will always be with me. *sobs uncontrollably* Amen
Just wanted to add to the comments - RIP Gatecrasher One as it was, you will be sadly missed, I had some amazing nights and for those I thank you and the people behind them! The new Gatecrasher One will arise, the faithful will return and history will be made again and again and we will love it as much as ever!
I will miss the place, the people and the nights BUT the new one will be better!
RIP GATECRASHER ONE it was a great night out and hopefully it will rise from the ashes and be even better than before if thats possible. PEACE Shellexx
