Simon Raine founder and architect of GATECRASHER said ““The very essence of club culture and nightclubs means that they constantly need to evolve in terms of design, aesthetics and allure. With Gatecrasher Nottingham we aim to unveil a brand new, modern and futuristic looking nightclub for the 21st Century, based very much in keeping with the Gatecrasher ethic and style of the ultimate clubbing experience; stunning environments, great service and a music policy in sync with the trends and fashions of the moment. Creating the perfect club experience and the right nightclub, is all about the right venue, the right combination of sound, interior design, lighting, production and musical programming in which to create a hedonistic experience, something which Gatecrasher has become renowned for.” To transform the club, Gatecrasher hired top interior designer Matt Rawlinson from RAW. Matt is Gatecrasher Group’s go-to design mind and is responsible for the design of all Gatecrasher clubs. Matt summed up the design concept for GatecrasherLovesNottingham by saying; “The allure of the Nottingham venue is in its unique layout of space, so the idea to create a variety of experiences under one roof was a natural theme. The areas will morph and alter during the evenings, breaking the space into functional zones. The design concept for GatecrasherLovesNottingham will combine the grandeur of the existing features of the building with modern flourishes alongside cutting edge technology. The essence was focussed on bringing out the Grade II listed plasterwork, friezing and fresco features back to life through extensive restoration work. We have retained some of the original features installed during the creation of Media in the late 90s, combining these features with bold colours, carefully sourced furniture and unique fittings to create a highly distinctive new club.” GATECRASHER proudly remains one of the most potent and recognisable names in world clubbing. The Queen Street venue is the third club to be branded and developed under the GATECRASHER umbrella alongside GATECRASHER ONE in Sheffield (currently being rebuilt after a fire) and GATECRASHER DISCOTHÈQUE in Leeds. The company, which also owns a 3000-capacity club in Birmingham and the renowned Area nightclub in Watford, has also confirmed that it is looking at several new sites in major cities across the UK as part of a 10-club, £15 million expansion plan.
