Welcome to our first issue of Bed Wear, check here every week for the latest fashion updates from the streets of Nottingham and beyond as seen by Roseanne Robinson.

Identities are for wearing and showing not storing and keeping

Whilst researching Nottingham based fashion companies it became apparent to me that the three businesses I chose to highlight began their story with a similar sentiment.

One True Saxon state..."One True Saxon was set up by ordinary blokes obsessed with decent clothing." Albamclothing.com begins with... "We started Albam to make great clothes at affordable prices." And ladies mail order company My-wardrobe.com say... "we are a entirely fashion focused web-site designed and developed in the UK" Least of all we cannot forget Nottingham’s main fashion produce Paul Smith who season after season comes back to his roots using Nottingham to influence his collections, examples of this are seen in the recent collaborations with Triumph and Mercian cycles.

My point in highlighting this trend is to show that Nottingham is a highly artistic design-based city full of home proud people wanting to make something high quality and un-pretentious for its citizens. This is a view that Bed shares... Bed is a sanctuary for all flavour of Nottingham based creatives and would like to welcome anyone from hard working business minds, to those who push the boundaries of supposed normality and refuse to conform.
